What We Believe

Statement of Faith:

We believe in:

  • The unity of the Godhead, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, each co-equal and divine.

  • God the Father, sovereign in creation, providence and redemption.

  • The Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God; His virgin birth; His perfect manhood and sinless life; His death as an atonement for sin on behalf of all mankind; His bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven; His coming again.

  • The personality of the Holy Spirit indwelling all believers.

  • The divine inspiration of the whole Bible which reveals the fallen nature of all mankind and the justification of the sinner solely through repentance and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ; the assurance of salvation and of eternal life for all believers.

  • The resurrection of the body; the judgement of all by our Lord Jesus Christ bringing eternal blessing to those who are righteous through faith and eternal punishment to the wicked and the unbeliever.

  • The ordinances of baptism (by immersion) and the Lord’s Supper for all believers.

The word “evangel” means the “good news” about Jesus Christ, which his first followers proclaimed and which is recorded in the Bible. Evangelicals emphasise the importance of a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ, and the importance of the Bible as the foundation for what we believe and how we live.
