Giving to the work of Salway Evangelical Church
How much does the church spend?
In 2021, the church spent a little over £100,000 in order to carry on its day-to-day work.
Where does this money go?
Of this total:
-
63% was spent on salaries and associated costs for our two paid workers, Ian and Ann;
-
15% was spent in supporting the work of our partners such as Counties Evangelists, Agapé, and Christian Education Project;
-
16% was spent in maintaining the building and paying for heating, lighting and cleaning;
-
3% was used to buy resources for the Sunday services and other teaching ministries;
-
3% was spent on admin costs.
Where does the church get its money from?
We rely almost entirely on the generosity of our congregation. Investment income generated by a legacy provides a small part of our funding.

What about bequests?
We are grateful to God for the bequests which church members have left to the church in their wills. If you would like to do this, you simply need to amend your will appropriately.
Please be aware that the church will generally set aside approximately 10% of any bequest – in line with the clear teaching of the Bible – to give to other churches, mission partners or individuals, according to need at the time. If you would prefer that the church retain the whole of your bequest, you should specify this in your will.
